Aoshima Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 [zenki]

this is a very late post.

I completed this kit a few months back, and only now will i post it.

Its aoshima's superbly detailed ae86 kit. It has better proportions and build quality than the fujimi version (which is outdated in terms of standards). little problems building it, and has a separate hood and bumpers for ease of painting. Overall this is a great kit.

My build is a simple build, primer grey clearcoated, stock interior, and a dose of lowering and some advan a3a rims with stretchwalls. So far this is my favorite model built to date. I can't wait to start another ae86 kit (car boutique ae86)

Featured Modeller: the medic EK9 (long overdue posting)

First off, i know i'm lacking in updates for the site. I've been very busy with work and everyday life that i haven't had time to build or update the blog. even the facebook account had a slow down. 

Some quick hits before i proceed to our featured modeller today:
 - will upload the completed and final pictures of  my grey AE86
 - some pics of my new project, and not my typical or usual build
 - lined up are some more feature modellers. (i have also updated my links section if anyone is interested)

Now, back to our regular posting:

Our featured modeller today is Alistair Canlas, or simply known as +Medic. The local car club I'm an admin and member of is grateful to him as he started out Auto Scale Modellers Philippines (ASMP) as a Facebook group that grew into a full pledged club about 1/24 scale modelling. Now club has regular Sunday meets and get-together to share tips and tricks. It also opened doors to new friends and suppliers, thus making the hobby more accessible to all. Soon members of ASMP will be featured here on the SR blogs too.

"Hi, I’m Alistair also known as +MEDIC (because I happen to be in the health care field) in some forums and I came from the Philippines. I started out building kits back in 2007 when I was 17; it was a Tamiya Tommi Makinen Evo VI rally version, with few panels painted. Started out hard at the top which resulted to countless failed kits. I got into auto scale model building due to grievous frustration of not having a 1:1 car, so I thought, I’d settle for 1:24 for the meantime. Honda Civic EK9 track/street fighter

finally completed my first kit for 2012 (strated this in february i think)

i love the EK civic, and i love the 96 style front end. this kit came with bent pillars, had to do a lot of massagin to have them straight again. i also went for blue since i like this color even though its not available as a standard color for the EK9. i also built this as i would build my own ek, with practically coming to mind also, that is why we have functional rear seat with the half cage. :) iwant to daily my car and track it too.

its a little rough on some areas (dirt caught in the spoiler paint and some paint chip in the rims) but i like leaving them in there. 

sorry for not so good pics, since i have a faulty camera (lens sensor is not working properly) i did my best to edit and clean the pictures in photoshop. will upload more and better pics once i borrow my brother's camera.

modifications - exterior:

-17" OZ wheels with drilled centers and extended lugnuts

-lowered

-Carbon Fiber hood, fenders, roof, trunk

-greddy SP style muffler in flat black

-lower tie bar

-high rise brackets for the spoiler

modifications - interior:

-bucket seat with sabelt blue harness

-black/red interior theme

-sport steering wheel

-converted the dash to a proper type R unit

-VAFC and data logger

-half cage

Datsun 720 and Honda City Turbo Bulldog II now completed

finally got these two done. they were completed before the nationals, but just recently i got the time ot edit and upload the pictures.
